DEBATE AND THIS YEARS RESOLUTION AFFIRMS AN EPISTEMOLOGICAL ANCHOR OF THE ZERO POINT WHICH RECREATES EGO POLITICS OF KNOWLEDGE UNDER THE GUISE OF OBJECTIVITY—ALL KNOWLEDGE IS SITUATED—THE RESOLUTION HIDES THE FACT THAT KNOWLEDGE IN THE STATUS QUO STEMS FROM WESTERN SECULAR THOUGHT THAT MARGINALIZES ALL OTHER PERSPECTIVES

THE RESOLUTION WANTS US TO FURTHER ENERGY PRODUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT—THIS MODERNIST RHETORIC JUSTIFIES COLONIAL GROWTH AND PERPETUATES THE OBJECTIFIATION OF NATURE THAT RECREATES THE RELATIONSHIP OF DOMINATION AND MANAGEMENT

ALL KNOWLEDGE IS PRODUCED FROM SUBJECTS SITUATED WITHIN POWER RELATIONS STRUCTURED BY THE COLINAL MATRIX OF POWER— WESTERN HEGEMONIC KNOWLEDGE CONSTRUCTION PRETENDS THAT ITS LOCALIZED PERSPECTIVE IS A UNIVERSAL TRUTH FOR THE WORLD

WORKING WITHIN THE EPISTEMOLOGY OF THE MATRIX OF POWER ENSURES THE PERPETUATION OF EPISTEMIC RACISM AND SEXISM

This leads to epistemiside

Thus, Michelle and I propose confronting and delinking from the colonial matrix of power. Embrace the 1AC as an epistemic shift away from modernity and toward epistemic and subjective decolonization working toward communal futures

Epistemic disobedience challenges the zero point epistemology and delinks from the colonial matrix of power
Mignolo, 2009(Walter D., “Epistemic Disobedience, Independent Thought and Decolonial Freedom”, Theory Culture Society, Vol. 26)

Not sure where to add this...new aff that reads Mignolo and Grosfoguel evidence and engages in decoloniality.  The advocacy statement is:

Thus, Michelle and I propose confronting and delinking from the colonial matrix of power.  Embrace the 1AC as an epistemic shift away from modernity and toward epistemic and subjective decolonization working toward communal futures.

They should add more, but some key points are:

Universal forms of knowledge are bad, cause "epistemicide."

Contention One is Language Construction:

Social organizing, education, and knowledge in the status quo has resulted in the process of centering and utilizing discourse to make sense of the world.

The process of using language to construct that which surrounds us not only perpetuates socially constructed beliefs, but also shapes the world around us.

Stibbe 01 (Arran, Senior Lecturer of English Language at the University of Gloucestershire, ’Language, power and the Social Construction of Animals’ from: Society %26 Animals 9:2, 2001. Pg. 145-146 )IAA
There has recently been what Fairclough (1992, p. 2) calls a
AND
or social practice that both reflects and creates the structuring of the area.

Grotesque Mcdonaldization 1AC ~[2/12~]

And that construction of the world around us becomes the basis by which we not only relate but also respond to behaviors and actions we are confronted with.

Stibbe 01 (Arran, Senior Lecturer of English Language at the University of Gloucestershire, ’Language, power and the Social Construction of Animals’ from: Society %26 Animals 9:2, 2001. Pg. 147-149 )IAA

Grotesque Mcdonaldization 1AC ~[3/12~]

Scenario One is Mcdonaldization:

That social cognition spills over into every facet of existence and perpetuates a rationalizing praxis that injects a Mcdonalds-style order and regulation.

Ritzer 83 (George, Sociologist. Distinguished University Professor at the University of Maryland, College Park, ’The McDonaldization of Society,’ from the Journal of American Culture, 6(1), 11/1983 Pg. 371-372)IAA

The success of fast food chains is used by Ritzer as a metaphorfor some general
AND
of this essay might be termed "the irrationality of rationality." . .

Grotesque Mcdonaldization 1AC ~[4/12~]

That Mcdonaldization results in complete authoritarian control of not only the animals used to keep the business afloat, but also the consumers and workers, diminishing their existence to dominated rationalized drones.

Ritzer 83 (George, Sociologist. Distinguished University Professor at the University of Maryland, College Park, ’The McDonaldization of Society,’ from the Journal of American Culture, 6(1), 11/1983 Pg. 376-379)IAA

rationalization involving, among other things, efforts to ameliorate its irrational consequences.

Grotesque Mcdonaldization 1AC ~[6/12~]

It also bolsters unregulated consumption, instills a specific style of social interaction and relations while also being the prime factor behind unregulated and unrestrained over-breeding of animals like Cows to keep up with the rationalized demand.

Ritzer 83 (George, Sociologist. Distinguished University Professor at the University of Maryland, College Park, ’The McDonaldization of Society,’ from the Journal of American Culture, 6(1), 11/1983 Pg. 372-376)IAA

The process of rationalization leads to a society in which a great deal of emphasis
AND
for a more predictable bounce of a ball. . . . It could

easily be argued that the emphasis on quantifiable measures, on things that can be
AND
is secondary, if indeed there is any concern at all for it.

Grotesque Mcdonaldization 1AC ~[8/12~]

Scenario Two is Warming:

The overabundance of cows for the sake of rationalized quantity pushes an already dangerous line by increasing the production of Methane which is significantly more dangerous than CO2 emissions.
Jecan 08 (Vlad, ’Cow Farts and their Apocalyptic Effects’ http://www.environmentalgraffiti.com/sciencetech/cow-farts-apocalyptic-effects/1275~%23VliPIl2HQFX0Pakm.99-http://www.environmentalgraffiti.com/sciencetech/cow-farts-apocalyptic-effects/1275 2008. )IAA
Scientists have managed to isolate the animal farting gene, opening new doors to cut
AND
equation: in the last three years they’ve have tripled their milk demands.

Continued Methane fuels runaway warming and causes extinction.

Tickell 2008 (Oliver Tickell, Climate Researcher, The Gaurdian, August 11, 2008, "On a planet 4C hotter, all we can prepare for is extinction", http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2008/aug/11/climatechange)**
We need to get prepared for four degrees of global warming, Bob Watson told
AND
The Earth’s carrying capacity would be hugely reduced. Billions would undoubtedly die.

Thus, _ and I advocate a complete surrender to all Bovine in existence.

Grotesque Mcdonaldization 1AC ~[9/12~]

Observation Two is Solvency:

Only a complete surrender solves- all forms of understanding and discussion over resources is tainted in logics that reproduce the harms of the squo.

Stibbe 01 (Arran, Senior Lecturer of English Language at the University of Gloucestershire, ’Language, power and the Social Construction of Animals’ from: Society %26 Animals 9:2, 2001. Pg. 154-157)IAA

The discourse of resources is frequently used in direct reference to live ani¬ mals
AND
animals and can be an appropriate area of research for critical discourse analysis.

Grotesque Mcdonaldization 1AC ~[10/12~]

Observation Three is Framework:

The 1AC endorses a framework of Grotesque Reflection.

The Role of the ballot is who best creates and provides a critical grotesque reflection of the realities of the Status Squo.

Grotesque Reflection is the process of satirically presenting the status quo with a reflection that is both exaggerated and an extrapolation of the actual sanitized face. T

he Advocacy statement was merely a grotesque reflection of contemporary civilizations orientations towards both work and consumption. Status Quo knowledge has become complacent with a Mcdonalized praxis of top/down control under the guise of a constructed identity for animals, ultimately failing to realize that the insidiousness of globalized and rationalized communal organization has not only shrouded the dire dependence on animals such as cows, but is also the primary cause of warming and extinction.

We believe our framework is best for a few reasons, First:

Their interpretation, standards, limits and ground claims are all predicated on the production of language construction that is always already the product of a Mcdonalized understanding. You should be suspect of their protocols, if we win .1% validity to any of our framework claims, then that’s enough for you to hold them accountable and vote them down for their advocacy.

The expansion of Mcdonalized control and the domestication of existence culminate In what is known as a "control society" where everything is regulated.

Burroughs," from: from: "Retaking The Universe: William S. Burroughs in the Age of Globalization" ISBN: 074532082, 2004. Pg. 78-79)IAA
Taking Michel Foucault’s meditations on power and government as an implicit starting point, Gilles
AND
but completely filled with the modulations of control’ (Hardt 1998:31).

Grotesque Mcdonaldization 1AC ~[11/12~]

Control Society is the biggest impact in the round, without a proper resistance in place, we’re speeding up our own destruction.

Morelyle 4 (Jason, Ph.D candidate in the Department of English at the University of Calgary. From: "Speculating Freedom: Addiction, Control and Rescriptive subjectivity in the Work of William S. Burroughs," from: from: "Retaking The Universe: William S. Burroughs in the Age of Globalization" ISBN: 074532082, 2004. Pg.79-80 )IAA
In a society of control, all disciplinary institutions—education, policing, psychiatry
AND
regime of sovereignty or discipline, but will instead seek to diffuse it.

Second, our framework provides a better form of education:

Our framework supercharges creativity because of an engagement to education that is topically based and disrupts overtly normative restrictions on certain knowledges.

We’ll win uniqueness—policy education is perpetuating stagnation that results in apathy over larger political conservative problems. Our education interrupts this stagnation by politicizing our struggles against political structures and accesses a larger potential to snowball outside of debate and to alter socio-cultural dimensions.

Our education is the best internal link to bodily agency—remember, their education reverts to spectatorship – ours is a placement of the body on the line .

This anecdote from The Job reveals the important role of the grotesque in the work
AND
attempts to fight these ’command structures’ through the concept of the grotesque,
